Principal's Message - Mrs. Christian

It hardly seems like it could already be October, but the fact that students and staff are settled into great routines with lots of engaging learning says we are right on track! This past month, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and enjoyed a COVID-friendly virtual assembly. The students had a lot of fun and learned many new things about Hispanic Heritage.

We had a great turnout for Open House, and thanks to all of you who stayed to do your child's verification online, we went from having over 300 students unverified, to only 79! Thank you so much! These forms give the state accurate data to determine funding and accountability for our school. If you haven't had a chance to verify online, your child will be bringing home a paper form this week for you to complete and return.

If you haven't already had a chance to conference with your child's teacher(s), they will be scheduling those soon. At the conference, teacher will share beginning of the year data, and plans for your child's growth this year. These conferences may be in-person or virtual to fit your needs.

October will hopefully bring us some cooler weather, and with that, comes fall fun! The Fall Festival will be October 28th from 5:30-7:00. We will also celebrate Red Ribbon Week that week, with our Storybook Character Day also on the 28th. Students and staff are invited to dress up as their favorite storybook character, and lots of fun reading opportunities will take place that day!

Have a wonderful October and we are excited to see you at school on the 28th!

On behalf of our most precious gifts,

Courtney Christian

Proud Garcia Principal
