WRITING
This week students started thinking about what type of message they want to share about their own lives!
READING
The students worked on finding the themes and life lessons in our mentor text and in their own fantasy texts. The kids are zooming through these books; so much so that I had to order more!
Please know that it is an expectation that the kids are READING and WRITING about their reading at home EVERY night. We remind them every day, multiple times a day to do this, but please encourage this behavior at home too! They set their own reading goals within their book clubs and know what they should be writing about. This weekend they are expected to complete the chart they started about themes within their fantasy novel.
MATH
In math this week students looked for the relationships between the x and y coordinates in order to create a rule for the ordered pairs. Today we played an intense game of frog toss to practice this skill. Ask your child about it!
District Mission Statement
In partnership with family and community, Woodridge School District 68 provides a comprehensive educational foundation for all children in a safe, caring environment, preparing them to be productive, responsible, and successful members of society.
Summer Reading Woodridge Public Library
On Monday, a representative from the Woodridge Public Library will be coming to talk to us about the Summer Reading Program. EVERY STUDENT at Goodrich (whether you live in Woodridge, Lisle or Downers Grove) is able to participate! We encourage ALL kids to participate in this program!
