Tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $10 for students.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a side splitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

Shrek presents a treasure trove of creative opportunities, including costumes, sets, puppets (there is a fire-breathing dragon after all) and more! Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.

Reminders

Big picture

Policy Reminder

We know that nerf, gel, and water guns are popular toys right now and we have had some discussions with students about the importance of leaving those at home as we work together to ensure a safe and distraction-free learning environment. Our school district policy is very clear that all weapons, including toy weapons, are not allowed on school grounds (which includes the bus). If you have questions, please review our 501 School Weapons Policy here.

Students leaving early...

If your student is feeling ill during the day, they need to see the nurse before leaving. They should not be contacting family directly to be picked up without checking in with the nurse first.

Students need to go through the main office whenever they leave for the day. Please communicate with the office not your student about early pick ups.

If you know you need to pick your child up early please do the following:

1. Send a note in with your child indicating the time and who will be picking them up.

*The office will give them a pass to give to their teacher when they need to leave.

2. Upon arrival, call the office at 952-707-2600 so we know you're here.

3. The office will send your child out to you.

If you don't know ahead of time please do the following:

1. Please call as early as possible to let us know when you will be coming to get your child.

2. We will do our best to have them in the office but this is not always possible.

3. Upon your arrival please call 952-707-2600 and we will send your child out to you.

Other reminders:

If you are picking your student up at 2:30 or after, you will need to go to parent pick up so that our buses can get to our Special Education students.

After 2:30 we cannot guarantee we will be able to get a message to your student. We always do our best but it is a busy time of day.

Thank you so much for your cooperation! We appreciate your partnership in keeping our students safe and accounted for!

Avid wants you!

District 191 secondary schools offer AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a college prep program designed to increase the number of students who enroll in four-year colleges. AVID serves all students by ensuring they acquire the organizational and study skills needed for them to be successful. Students learn academic strategies to develop critical thinking skills and ask probing questions.

AVID Goals

  • Accelerate under-achieving students who have potential into more rigorous courses
  • Teach academic and social skills not targeted in other classes
  • Provide intensive support with in-class tutors and a strong student/teacher relationship
  • Create a positive peer group for students
  • Develop a sense of hope and personal achievement through hard work and determination

At the middle school level, the AVID class is built into students' Literary Arts classes. Use of AVID teaching methods, such as Cornell note-taking and group collaboration, takes place in all classes and creates a college-going culture across all schools, so that every student benefits from this renowned national program.

We are accepting applications for current 6th & 7th graders. Apply here if interested!
