This week B-C-S is featuring alumni Bryce Rubie, Class of 2013
1. What year did you graduate?
- 2013
2. What is something unique about you?
- Most of oak harbor knows I have gone through 2 kidney transplants. I also love running marathons and Tri-Athlons for fun.
3. What is your current career?
- My current career is Actor out in Los Angeles, CA. I also work as an Assistant to an athletic brand called Lifestyle Athletics and also work at a vegan restaurant called I Love Juice Bar.
4. What is your favorite memory at OHHS?
My favorite memory at OHHS would have to be my best friend Greg and I going to Mr. Lance’s class or Sweet’s hanging out and talking about sports.
5. What advice can you give our current seniors at OHHS?
- Life outside of school is short so make the most of it. If you go to college right after, awesome. Education is very good and I recommend it. If you join the armed forces, amazing because you are willing to sacrifice your life to keep this country safe and I have so much respect for that. If you are going into the work force right after, amazing. You may be saving money to go to school or just work. But whatever you choose make sure you are happy about your job. Yeah, it may pay well but if it's not what you want to do take a risk and try a different job. One that pertains to what you like or love. Next, the ones who don't have a goal or don't know what you want, again AMAZING, with a capital A. Life Fly’s by quick and you may just want to take some time and relax. Whatever the option may be just make sure you know what you want. And finally a special one goes to those who maybe going through treatment in a hospital or those at home. Never give up on Life. Having gone through dialysis basically right after high school and never knowing if I was going to live to see tomorrow was horrible. But with motivation from my family and friends I was motivated to keep on fighting to stay alive and never give up on life. Life is not meant to be lived ordinary it's meant to be lived EXTRAORDINARY.
