What's Buzzing at the Heights
Weekly Update, Week 16: Dec. 2-6, 2019
Message from the Principal
I hope that each of you had a pleasant week off and enjoyed your family for the Thanksgiving Holiday! We are so thankful to share your beautiful children!
This week, I ask that you focus on arriving early. Our scholars enter their classrooms at 7:30 AM. We begin Breakfast in the Classroom and morning announcements by 7:35 AM. If you arrive at 7:45 AM, you are late. Let's work together to have our scholars begin their day on time!
Starting on Monday, December 9, we will go LIVE with our Visitor Video System. We will send home information this week. PLEASE read and know the changes that will come with the new system.

Happy Week 16 to all!
Thank you,

Social & Emotional Learning (SEL): Committing to be Your BEST
Teachers will explore negative mental habits and how to replace them with positive mental habits to stay ABOVE the LINE. Students will discuss the POP Chart in their classrooms that allows them to communicate how they are feeling.
Talk to your child about their SEL lesson of the week!
Random Acts of Kindness (ARK)
During the months of October and November, our scholars collected coins in yellow ARKs for community organizations. The grade levels selected their organization to support:
PK: Rescue Mission
K: Child Crisis Center
1st: El Paso Children's Foundation
2nd: El Paso Children's Foundation
3rd: Laws & Paws
4th: St. Jude Hospital
5th: El Paso Children's Foundation
Together, we collected over $4,000 for these organizations that support those in need in our community. Thank you for your generosity and sharing our blessings with others!

Visitor Video System (VVS)
This means that no one will be allowed to enter without a driver's license.
Starting on Monday, December 9, students will now enter the building by the Nurse's Office doors. We will have an administrator on duty to help the students enter the building. We will be on duty starting at 6:45 AM.
It is our goal that we all focus on SAFETY for our children and educators!
