ATTENTION STUDENTS JUST ADDED AS OF 01/29

CRF SEASON AND YOUR WOLVERINE CENTER.

We are quickly approaching the busiest season for counselors. This year large groups of students will be coming to the Wolverine Center throughout the day to participate in counseling lessons and to meet individually with their counselor to affirm their course requests. This means that the Wolverine Center will be more impacted than usual. Counselors are available to students on a walk-in basis before school, after school, or during Wolverine Time or lunch. Students and Parents can also make appointments with their counselor through our Counseling Canvas page, the Counseling website, or via the QR codes posted in the Wolverine Center. While a student can make an appointment during a class period, this should only be done with the teacher’s approval. Students experiencing a mental Health crisis during learning time are encouraged to let their teacher know. Confidentiality is maintained at all times.

COURSES FOR 2023-2024

The Course Request window will be open by grade level according to the following dates: Current 11th grade students (January 30 - February 2), Current 10th grade students (February 4 - 9), Current 9th grade students (February 11 - 16). Additional information can be found on the Counseling website and our Course Registration newsletter.

COUNSELOR OPEN HOUSE

Counselors will be offering virtual family appointments for questions about course selection. Please visit the Course Registration newsletter to sign up for an appointment. We are also available by phone and email.

FREE JAVA CODING CAMP

Westview's SWENextxWiSTEM club and SD Coding for All are offering a free, virtual Java coding camp for students in 7th-12th grade. Signups open on January 4. Go to sdcodingforall.com to sign up! The camp will be on January 28-29, and February 4-5, from 9:00 am-11:30 am PST through Zoom.

Miramar College will be on campus Wednesday, February 1st from 8:30am-9:30am in room A101 for a General Information session along with Application help.

Palomar College will be on campus Wednesday, February 15th from 8:30am-9:30am in room A101 for a General Information session along with Application help.

ATTENTION WHS FAMILIES.

Although school meals are now free to all students, the application for free and reduced-price meals is still very important. School funding depends in part on the number of students at our school that qualify for free or reduced-price meals. With all students now eating for free, fewer families are completing the application and our school is at risk of losing much-needed educational funds. Plus, students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals may also be missing out on discounts on bus transportation, home internet, SAT and AP tests, and college application fees!

Even if you did not qualify before but your income has changed, you may qualify. For example, children from a family of four are eligible if the total gross (pre-tax) household income is less than $4,279 per month, or less than $51,338 per year. Household income information is confidential and applying online is quick and easy. Apply online at MySchoolApps.com, or pick up a paper application in the school office.

MOCK TESTING

SAT AND ACT MOCK TESTING

SAT & ACT MOCK TESTING 2023

Tests are administered by Hamilton and include a results review session. Test dates for 2023 are January 21, March 11 and April 22, all in-person. Click here to sign up. $35 per test, all proceeds donated to Westview PTSA.
