Middle School Counselors Making A Difference
We should all scatter kindness around and that is exactly what our middle school counselors and students will be doing in October. National Unity Day is On October 25th and our middle schools will be celebrating caring, kindness and acceptance of others.
Throughout the month counselors and staff will raise awareness and encourage students to develop new friendships and peer connections. Additionally, on the 25th all students and staff are encouraged to show their support by wearing orange.
Also, Red Ribbon week begins October 23rd. Counselors will be supporting activities tackling substance abuse awareness, education and prevention.
As a parent it is important that you talk with your child about substance abuse prevention. These are tough conversations to have and this toolkit can help to make those conversations a little easier. http://medicineabuseproject.org/assets/documents/parent_talk_kit.pdf

Senior Meetings And Counselor Appointments
Our counselors are also available to assist parents and students. They are a talented group of professionals who enjoy meeting with students and parents. If you wish to speak with your child's counselor, the best way to schedule an appointment is by calling 516-277-7030. Students may find it easier to stop by the office to schedule an appointment. We want to answer your questions and we have found this to be the best way to see your counselor quickly.
