Is your student up to date on their immunizations?
As we embark upon another school year, now is a good time to check and make sure your child is current on their immunizations. From birth through high school the Center for Disease Control has a recommended schedule of immunizations to help protect against preventable diseases in your child.
All students, including new students and transfer students, in Berea City Schools are required by law to provide proof of immunizations within fourteen days of entrance into the school system or after a change of Ohio Revised Code is in effect. Please do not rely on your previous school to forward this important and needed piece of information. If it is not forwarded in a timely fashion, your child may be required to miss school until it is provided. Those who for religious or medical reasons cannot be immunized must file an exemption each and every year with the school system. This year’s exclusion date is September 12, 2019.
Below you will find a list of those immunizations required by the state of Ohio to be admitted and remain in school. If you have any questions please contact your School Health Specialist provided by Southwest General Healthcare Center at your local school for assistance. You can also check out the CDC recommendations, which are greater than the state requirements at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/child-schedule.htm

Department Highlights - Math
The Math Department is thrilled to welcome two “new” teachers to BMHS. Both come from the middle school and are excited to be here.
Miss Katherine Crossen has been an 8th and 9th grade math teacher in the district for the past 5 years. She graduated from Midpark High School in 2009 and Baldwin Wallace University in 2013. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis and solving weekly Sudoku puzzles. She is excited to be back teaching at the high school! Miss Crossen will be teaching Honors Algebra 1 and Algebra 1.
Mrs. Jackie Narowitz was born and raised in Bay Village Ohio and currently lives in Avon Lake. She is married with 3 kids, Daniel, 9, Ian, 7 and Anna, 4. They have two dogs and two guinea pigs. She is a big sports fan who cheers for the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids doing anything outdoors such as camping, fishing and hiking. She can often be found running with her dog around the neighborhood.
