Greetings Sageland Parents,

Thank you, parents, for attending our virtual parent conferences this past week. Parental involvement not only enhances academic performance but also has a positive influence on student attitude and behavior. A parent's interest and encouragement in a child's education can affect the child's attitude toward school, classroom conduct, self-esteem, absenteeism, and motivation. As a team, we need to continue to work together to improve the learning and motivation of all our Scotties. You play a pivotal role in your child's education. We cannot thank you enough for all that you do.

TELPAS testing is coming up and we would like to create a safe learning environment for your children. Please remember to screen your child daily before sending them to school and keep them home if they are experiencing a new onset of symptoms that is not normal for them. If your child has been around a Covid-19 lab-confirmed positive case in the last 14 days, please do not send your child to the campus and seek Covid-19 testing. Covid-19 testing is completed free of charge to YISD students and their household members at Central Office, please call 915-434-0000 for additional information. The testing center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-3:00 pm.

Sageland Elementary is also offering free Binax Covid-19 Rapid Testing for our in-person students. Results are provided within 15 minutes. Testing is completely voluntary and free. Please stop by our office and fill out a testing slip if you wish to have your children participate.

Make sure your children go to bed early to ensure they get plenty of rest, this will allow for proper learning.
