Kia ora e te whānau,

Thank you for all your support shown for Jumping June. We have been enjoying learning skipping and jumping games as part of our daily fitness.

As well as the benefit to our children, a sizeable donation has been raised by families for the Heart Foundation.

Thursday, weather permitting is a school wide Jumping June day. We will be partaking in a range of activities run by Rakau Nui children and teachers.

Unfortunately there has been a bit of sickness in Pounamu with flu and stomach upsets. Please do not send your child to school if they are sick. We appreciate your support with this.

Have a safe and warm week!

Ngā mihi,

Pounamu Teachers.

Room 4 update

Due to illness Ms Blue is away for the rest of the term. Fortunately we have Clare Adams covering her. As many of you know, Clare is the previous Deputy Principal of Paparangi and we are lucky to have her support. We are keeping routines and expectations the same so the children have consistency. Luckily all our relievers have been part time teachers that the children know. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Amanda via email or pop into Room 5.

NZ Playhouse - The Emperor's New Clothes

We are looking forward to having NZ Playhouse come to the school at the end of the first week next term to perform their Emperor's New Clothes play for the whole school. The tamariki thoroughly enjoy these shows, which allow us to bring the experience of the theatre to the children.

The Emperor's New Clothes performs on Wednesday 27 July at 11.45. The cost per student is $6.00 per person. Please pay via Kindo, internet banking or EftPos at the office.

Covid - Orange level expectations

There are no requirements for masks at our year level but Pounamu children and teachers may decide to wear masks if they choose to.

We are able to have syndicate assemblies inside.

Parents are allowed onto the grounds but are asked to wear masks if they are coming into a classroom.

Library times

We have turns going to the library on Fridays. On an odd week Rooms 3 & 5 go, on an even week Rooms 2 & 4 go.

This week is week 9 so Rooms 3 & 5 will be going.
