Message From Principal Appiah-McNulty:
Good Evening RMS Families,
2021-2022 begins on August 16, 2021!
RMS Theme: " If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you."
Our theme for the 2021-2022 school year is about pushing ourselves beyond our own expectations. We are encouraging our students to be their best selves. Life is about taking opportunities and persevering despite the obstacles that come our way. So, this year, we will go the distance and finish Senator STRONG academically as well as social emotionally!
Many of our families are beginning to ask questions about what this year will look like. I do understand that there is a bit of uncertainty with the recent rise of Covid-19 cases. The district will be sending out the most up to date information as decisions are made in regards to masks. Again, our staff will have a Wellness Committee that reviews school procedures and makes decisions in order to maintain safety within our school. As the new school year draws closer, we will keep all families up to date on new information and decisions made to ensure that our school operates as safely and smoothly as possible. Our goal is to maintain the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines, therefore, we will ensure that handwashing and hand-sanitizing habits will continue to be encouraged by our entire school community. It is critical that students stay home if they are sick and have Covid 19 related symptoms. Additionally, we will still utilize the District Covid Hotline in order to conduct proper contact tracing procedures. Thank you so much for your attention to this very important information.
What do students need in order to be successful this year? RMS Families and RMS staff have to be equal partners in students' education. Covid 19 as you can see has not gone away and all of us from teachers, school staff, students and families have to work closely together to encourage and support our students to be present for school and ready to learn. The RMS Team is excited to welcome our students back to school and provide them with the best possible education. Our team will indeed rise to the challenges we face and persevere for our students and our community. So, let’s work as a team to make sure students come to school, complete class work, ask for support when needed, and follow RMS Behavioral Expectations. If we can do this, we will continue to see a positive academic growth for our students as well as continuing to build upon our already amazing learning environment for all of our scholars.
Please read the remainder of the newsletter to find out more information about Open House, Computer Pick Up Days, and other important school events. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Appiah-McNulty
RMS Library: Ms. Kerri Berry
It is hard to believe that summer is almost over but I am looking forward to a great school year! My name is Kerri Berry and I am the teacher librarian. I am a Robinson graduate, taught math at Robinson for 17 years and this is my fifth year as a librarian, so I am definitely Senator Strong!
The RMS library is full of books from all genres and I strive to have all the latest, greatest books. We also have access to eBooks through Mackin, Capstone, and CALS. The library will be open for free flow in the morning and at lunch and will also schedule times through your child’s english class.
I will also be the contact person for any issues your student may have with chromebooks. Chromebooks will be handed out next week (schedule below).
The RMS library is not only the place for the latest book or for chromebook help, it is also a safe place to come if your child has questions or needs assistance in any way. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. kberry1325@pcssd.org

If your child did not turn in the charger assigned to them last year, they will not receive a new charger. However, the old charger will work on the new devices.
If your child owes fines for damage to a chromebook, they will receive a loaner device until all fines are paid.
Students will be able to pick-up chromebooks, pay fees, get their locker assignment, agenda book, and schedule during the times below.

If you are unable to come during the scheduled time, your child will receive their device on the first day of school. We will also be passing out insurance flyers with the chromebooks. Please look at this and consider purchasing, accidents happen and chromebook damage can be expensive.
