Christmas Cookies with the Day Centre
The Cycle 1 students visited the seniors at the community centre on Tuesday, December 10th. They participated is a special activity together. They decorated Christmas Cookies! Each child had a gingerbread cookies (made by Ms Peg - thank you!) and sugar cookies (made by Ms Jayne). The students and seniors sat and chatted while they iced and decorated the cookies. They also made up a special plate full for Pam and Dany (from the Day Centre) AND there was enough for everyone to take home and leave for Santa!
Cookie Delivery
On December 6th, the students at our daycare make special chocolate cookies. On Wednesday, December 11th, four of our ambassadors delivered these special treats to the employees at the municipality. It was important for us to thank them for everything they do for us. The rink, the library, the hall for our events! And so much more. We are so lucky to have a wonderful municipality that takes care of us. Merry Christmas.
TALENT SHOW
Calling all talented students! We will have a talent show on Saturday, April 18th at the Community Centre! Now is the time to think about what you would like to do. Dance, sing, magic tricks, play an instrument or perform in a play!!! A sign up sheet will be sent out after the holidays. Don't forget to sign up! It is a wonderful opportunity for you to shine!
YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS By: Jayne Doddridge
Calling all young entrepreneurs. Beginning in January we will have a club for those students who have signed up for this. The idea is to come up with products to sell. Students will be given the time to work on their projects. We will take a table at the Farmers Market in the summer and they will be able to sell some of their crafts. We will only take a table twice or three times during the summer. They will not be obliged to be at the market every week. Students will need to commit to making their items and selling them. Our first meeting will be to decided what they would like to do. The first meeting with be Monday, January 13th during the morning recess.
Christmas Hampers
Congratulations Valcartier Elementary School! Once again everyone has been so generous during the Twelve Days of Giving for the Christmas Hampers. Seven boxes of food (and treats) were picked up on Monday, December 16th. Thank you so much for your donations.
NATURE CLUB
Our December activity for Nature Club was a beautiful hike on the walking path! We talked about different animal tracks in the snow and how animals hunt in the dark. The students discovered a candy tree during the hike! They took a little break and enjoyed our special treat.
CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING DAY
Emily Lachance, Lea Sheridan and Alice Bungay were helpful elves and guided the many children and parents along the walking path as they searched for clues to find Santa's sleigh. The special day was organized by the Sports and Recreation Department of the Municipality and this is a great family day with many activities and lots of Christmas spirit.
MUSIC AND ART STARTING BACK IN JANUARY
Just a reminder that the recorder lessons and Art with Emma will be starting back in January. The students will be advised. Payment sheets will be sent home with the students who are interested.
Cooking Club will begin the first week of January.

Once again, our teachers did a fantastic job with our annual Christmas Concert. The students did amazing performances with their dancing, singing and plays. Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and siblings who came out in great numbers to support our students.
