Health and Safety - Allergies, Peanuts, Masks and More
We are adhering to health and safety protocols, including hand washing , masks, except for when eating, outside time, increased ventilation and more. Please help us by reminding kiddos that these rules are in place to keep kids and families safe.
We have free lunch and breakfast for all students and are eating in the rooms and outdoors as much as possible. We do have several students who bring lunch from home and are asking that families refrain from sending peanut butter, peanuts and tree nuts in for lunch. We have multiple students with life threatening allergies to these. Keeping them out of the building will help keep all our kids safe.
During this pandemic year, Eugene School District 4J has provided families three options for learning: on-site learning in a hybrid model, all-online learning connected with your school, or the district’s separate online academy.
Families had three opportunities throughout the year to select their student's learning pathway. Further midterm changes are not available.
To go all-online for health reasons, give us a call.
If your student is enrolled in hybrid learning and you need to change to online for
health reasons, please give us a call about options.
State Testing - Family Options to Participate or Opt Out - Survey DUE APRIL 30
Students who participate in state testing will complete the tests on-site at school. School meals and school bus transportation will be provided.
Testing day for Cohort A is Wednesday, May 19. For Cohort B, it is Wednesday, May 26. Same School Online students may test on either day. For elementary and high school, testing will be offered 1–4 p.m.
A makeup day will be offered for students who missed the testing day or want more time: Wednesday, June 9 for middle and high school, and Friday, June 11 for elementary school. This also be the testing day for Eugene Online Academy students who participate in state testing.
Families have three options for their students in grades 3–8 and 11: Complete state tests as scheduled, complete additional tests for the other subjects normally tested at their grade level, or opt out and not complete state tests this year.
Please respond by Friday, April 30 regarding your student in grade 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11, so the district can plan for transportation and testing supports.
