We Love Mrs. Hatfield!!!!
Mrs. Chareese Hatfield has always been very excited and honored to be the Assistant Principal at West Cypress Hills Elementary. She feels privileged to serve your children and the families of the Lake Travis community. And, WE are excited and honored to have her at the Assistant Principal helm!
Mrs. Hatfield graduated from Texas Tech University in 2002, and soon began her teaching career in Coppell ISD near the DFW area. In 2008 she relocated back to Austin and joined the Eanes ISD where she spent 3 years before joining LTISD in 2012. Her strong passion for learning and leading led her to receiving her M. Ed. in Education Administration from Concordia in 2013.
She and her husband have two amazing boys who attend LTISD. Luke will be in 5th grade at West Cypress Hills Elementary and Haden a 7th grader at Lake Travis Middle School. Her life at home is filled with all things sports, outdoor activities, traveling to the mountains and beaches, and just enjoying time with family and friends.
Thank you, Mrs. Hatfield, for taking such good care of us!
One Community | One School | One Book
On Monday, April 10, our school will embark on a special project: an all-school book club called One Community One School One Book.
Every family will receive a copy of Saving Winslow by Sharon Creech. Students will receive the book this week during library classes, and families will be invited to read it together at home during the program.
Please click this link to view the reading calendar and to learn more. Happy Reading!
Notice for Car Riders' Pick Up at Dismissal
If you have scheduled your Tiger(s) to go home in the afternoon via Car Rider pickup, please be sure to pick up your Tiger(s) before 3:15 pm. If you arrive and do not see our school staff members still on duty in the front of the building assisting students into their cars, you will need to park and come inside to sign out your Tiger(s.)
Thank you!
We are collecting through April 14!
Keep those bags rolling in!
Help WCHE to Win the Challenge!
Everyone who recycles is a winner in our book!
However, thanks to HEB, Tigers also have an opportunity to be winners in a more tangible way. Between March 6 and April 14, we are participating in the HEB Earth Day Recycling Challenge so that we can win even more than the satisfaction of being good citizens of planet earth.
For this challenge, we are collecting plastic retail shopping bags, bread bags, dry cleaning bags, and newspaper bags March 6 through April 14. All Tigers are invited to drop off their bags in the HEB recycling bin that will be placed in our front lobby.
Participating schools will be rewarded with a $150 gift card for an Earth Day Celebration! The top 3 schools with the highest number of recycled bags will win another gift card. 1st place wins a $500 gift card. 2nd place wins a $350 card, and 3rd place wins a $250 card.
Tigers, bring us your bags!!!!! Help WCHE to win the challenge!
Dear Parents of WCHE 5th Graders
If your child receives updated immunizations at his/her 11-year-old well check, please turn the record in to me. I will then be able to make sure that the immunization record is as up to date as possible before he/she is promoted to middle school.
There are 3 vaccines recommended for preteens. At 11-12 years old, your preteen should receive vaccines to protect them from the following diseases:
- Meningococcal disease (MenACWY) (one dose)
- HPV (two doses)
- Tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (pertussis) (Tdap) (one dose)
Please remember that you are welcome to contact me if you have questions concerning immunizations.
Warmest regards,
Kate Neal, RN
