September Tiger Tales
The latest news and updates from LGAE
Hi Tiger Families,
Our focus this year is on connection. Our hope for every student, family and staff member is that they feel connected to one another and to our school. Although physical distance may separate us, we strive to build deep emotional connections that ensure each person is seen, valued and heard as a part of our Tiger family.
One of the ways to deepen our connection is having frequent conversations with your child about how their school day went. If you're looking for more than the typical "How was your day?" "Good" conversation, here are some questions you could ask your child to prompt them to think and share about their day..
- Who is someone that made you smile today?
- Who did you play with today?
- What is one way you helped someone at school?
- What was something that you did today that was hard or difficult to do?
- What do you wish you got to do more of?
- What's something that made you laugh?
- Is there someone you would like to say thank you to today? Someone you'd like to say sorry to today?
- What do you hope to do again tomorrow?
We are grateful for your support and are looking forward to an amazing school year together!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ochi

LGAE Parent and Family Leads
Here at LGAE, we also have two amazing staff members dedicated to deepening our connection with our parents and families.
Emma Rios is our parent volunteer coordinator. Many of you may already know Mrs. Rios. Besides being the first face students see as they enter school at our auditorium gate, Mrs. Rios is deeply connected to the Lemon Grove community. As a former parent to Lemon Grove learners, Mrs. Rios cares deeply about our schools and ensuring that all parents are able to participate and partner in their children's learning and growth! Although on campus volunteers are currently not permitted due to COVID protocols, Mrs. Rios is supporting our work virtually and you can find her at monthly PTA meetings! To reach out to Mrs. Rios, email erios1@lemongrovesd.net
Francis Lacsamana, or Mr. L as he is most commonly known to some of our littlest lemons, is LGAE's parent and family engagement lead! Together with Azucena, he will be sharing opportunities for families to engage with both the LGAE and greater Lemon Grove community. Besides being a phenomenal part of our Kindergarten teaching team, Mr. L is also a parent to one of our very own Tigers and lives in the Lemon Grove community. To reach out to Mr. L, email flacsamana@lemongrovesd.net
