Milton High School Summer Updates
August 2022
Summer Updates
I want to thank all of the staff & students that have worked this summer to get our building ready for our return on the 31st!
First Day of School, Wednesday, August 31st!
All students will report to their Advisory period by 7:50AM. All students will receive their schedule at this time and will review school policies and expectations. An email is going out to all families with Advisory assignments prior to the first day of school.
The schedule for the first 2 days of school is posted here. Teachers will be able to meet with all of their classes on these 2 days and we will start our rotating schedule on Tuesday, September 6th.
The Milton High School bell schedule can be found here. We will be continuing with a 7 day rotating schedule which will have an advisory period built in every day. We are keeping a 4th lunch in our schedule to help with overcrowding in the cafeteria during lunches. We will review this schedule with our students over the first 2 days of school.

Technology Updates
This is a reminder to access the Milton Public Schools Family Technology Support Help Center website to troubleshoot potential issues with, and/or educate yourself about, a device/ platform/application for which you are not familiar. The site provides information on PlusPortal, Google, Clever, Guardian Monitoring, Who to Contact, and more.
All ninth-grade and tenth-grade students will receive a school-issued Chromebook that they will take to and from school on a daily basis. They will not be allowed to bring their own device to school. Eleventh and twelfth grade students will bring their own device (BYOD), or be issued a school device to bring to school each day. It is expected that teachers will consider and make use of these students' devices in their curriculum where appropriate. It is expected that students are prepared for class with a device that is ready to use each day.
Optional Chromebook insurance will be offered to all ninth and tenth grade students along with any eleventh and twelfth grade student who does not bring their own device. It is highly encouraged to purchase insurance for their school-issued Chromebook. If insurance is declined, students are held responsible for damage beyond reasonable wear and tear as outlined in the Loan Agreement. Here is a link to purchase Chromebook Insurance for the 2022-2023 school year.
Ninth and tenth grade students will receive their MPS Chromebook during advisory on the first day of school.
All students and families of students who are using a school-issued Chromebook are required to sign the Chromebook Loan Agreement. Here is a link to the MHS digital Chromebook Loan Agreements

Beyond Bandaids-Minding Your College Student's Mental Health
College Parent Central is hosting a free virtual panel for parents on college student health on August 25 at 7:30 pm – Beyond Bandaids: Minding Your College Student’s Health. Presenters will be Dr. Jill Grimes, author of The Ultimate College Student Health Handbook and Jill & Dave Henry, authors of The Greatest College Student Health Guide You Never Knew You Needed. The panel will include time for a Q&A. We think it will be of interest to parents with students heading to college or nearing college.
A press release is included and a flier with more information. The “Register” link in the flier is live, but the link to register is https://wp.me/punbM-3Nu. Advance registration is required.
