MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
MANY THANKS AND SO GRATEFUL
The quote here says it all... JOY is really the simplest form of gratitude.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent community through the Parents and Friends Association and our School Board for the work and time they have given to our school throughout this year. To all those parents and families who supported the P&F especially, thank you to you.
Both students and staff are so grateful to both these two groups which provide for our school resources and governance of the school. I can assure our parent body that we are certainly in good hands with these two groups working for our school and especially for our children.
ST VINNIES CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
As mentioned above, I’ll continue to express my thanks to all our families for their kind donations of food items for our St Vinnies Christmas Hampers. At this morning’s assembly, the Kalamunda St V representatives came to collect all our baskets. It was certainly a very impressive collection of food and drinks.
Your kind donations will give those vulnerable members in our community a brighter Christmas.
MMADs CAMP OUT
A reminder to our dads who would like to spend some time with their children this weekend, that we have our MMADs Camp Out being held this Saturday.
This will be held on the school grounds. Come along and enjoy some valuable time with your children.
ECE Liturgy 4K – Yr. 2
On Wednesday, morning this week, we were led in prayer by our Early Childhood students. A liturgy was held in the St Emilie Chapel. Our 4K, PP Yr 1 and Yr 2 students organised and prepared for this liturgy. All students who read, read beautifully and all behaved reverently.
Many thanks to these classes and also many thanks to the big number of parents and grandparents who also attended the liturgy.
BRICKS FOR KIDS
Thanks to our P&F for providing the Bricks for Kids incursion for our students. This was held throughout last week and this week. I know that the students certainly enjoyed the whole experience.
AGM
I look forward to seeing as many parents as we can at our AGM and Volunteer’s Thank-you Sundowner next Tuesday. Our Sundowner commences at 5:30 pm and the AGM will commence promptly at 7:00 pm.
Enjoy your weekend!

MMPS IS TURNING 100!! (1921 - 2021)
IN 1921 MARY'S MOUNT PRIMARY SCHOOL WILL BE CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION!
We have begun the planning for this special year, and would like you to take a few minutes and let us know your ideas and what you would like to see happen to celebrate our school's 100th birthday.
Please keep in mind, after a 100 years of education, there are many groups of the community to consider, and we would like to ensure we include all of them in our celebrations. As a recap, for our 90th celebrations, the following took place:
- Mass at the Cathedral on 2 Feb for students and families to celebrate the schools actual 'birth day' on this day. All students were given a commemorative medal in a pouch.
- Parent event - sit down dinner & band etc.
- Mary's Mount Week - tours, Mass, morning tea for parents, grandparents and families.
- School open day was held in November - included speeches, historical displays, food stalls and entertainment (rides, fun and activities), cutting of cake etc.
- Merchandise we sold included - key rings, olive oil gift packs
Please take a few moments to let us know what ideas you have and how you may be able to help by completing our online survey here https://tinyurl.com/wxpbj8n
We are about to kick start communications for our 100th year including launching a Facebook Group next week, a newsletter to keep people up to date, as well as more, so stay tuned and keep an eye out.
Before we know it, it will be time to celebrate!
Thank you.

WE DID IT!!
Thank you to all the parents who came along and supported the P&F parent night this year. We are pleased to let you know that we raised enough money to fulfil our target of topping up robotics resources for the school.
The parent night raised $2028, which will be put towards purchasing more Spheros and Bee Bots, so that there will be enough robotics equipment that can be shared between class groups in the school.
We look forward to our kids enjoying these resources!
Thank you to all who helped make the night a success and especially to the following sponsors:

ST VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
Fifteen Christmas hampers were collected from classrooms to present to St Vincent de Paul at this morning's assembly. Gerard and Harry from the St Vincent de Paul were extremely delighted with the school's overwhelming generosity and thoughtfulness in contributing to the society's 2019 Christmas Appeal. All delicious goodies and special Christmas treats will be distributed to the underprivileged, the vulnerable and families in need within the Kalamunda district so that they too may enjoy the excitement and happiness of the Christmas season.
An ENORMOUS thank you to all our incredibly charitable families who have so kindly given to this wonderful cause.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL, KALAMUNDA
Domino’s pizza has generously donated pizzas to feed up to 50 people to the Kalamunda SvdP Conference. These will be handed out to those in need at the Kalamunda Parish Church each week on a Thursday evening from 7.30pm starting on December 5. If you know a family or anyone who deserves a pizza meal please let them know they are very welcome to come and either dine in at the Parish Hall or to take a pizza home. Drinks will be available to those who dine in.
Christian Service Opportunity
Year 10 - 12 students who are looking for more hours of Christian Service are encouraged to be part of a weekly pizza night at Holy Family Parish Kalamunda run by the St Vincent de Paul group. If you wish to gain hours through this, please contact Harry on 0408193664.
BREAKFAST IN THE PARK 2020 - JOIN THE TEAM!
BREAKFAST IN THE PARK WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY 8 MARCH 2020 and this will be the 34th Year! Breakfast In the Park is a great event that promotes both our school and our community spirit to the wider community.
It is also one of the P&F’s main fundraisers and is only possible through all the great work of many volunteers on the day and in the weeks leading up to the event.
** We are currently recruiting people to join the 2020 Breakfast in the Park Committee **
If you feel that you would like to join the BIP team in any capacity, the P&F would love to hear from you. Please drop us an email at pfmarysmount@gmail.com by 26 November and let us know what area you would be able to assist with.
In particular we are looking for people to be responsible for the following areas:
