Golf: State Championship Recap
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf finished 4th at the AHSAA State Golf Championships this week. After Monday's opening round, the Huskies were just four shots off the lead. HT got off to a hot start on Tuesday as they were two-under par after five holes. Rain and lightning then halted play. Later in the day, the second round was cancelled due to weather.
Cole Davidson and Ethan Hacker finished T6 after shooting 74 on Monday. The state event capped a successful season for the Boys. The Huskies won three events and placed second in seven events. 2021 was the first Final Four appearance for the Boys' team since 7A was created.
Molly Davidson advanced to the Girls State Championship event as an individual. Davidson finished as the 7A individual runner-up after an opening round of two-under par 70.

Softball Set to Play in AHSAA East Regional
Hewitt-Trussville Softball will travel to Montgomery on Friday for the AHSAA East Regional. The Huskies will compete with Auburn, Central Phenix City, and Vestavia in a double elimination event. The top two teams from the East Regional will advance to the State Tournament next week. The Huskies will open play Friday at 9am vs Central Phenix City. The East Regional will be played at Lagoon Park.

Softball Wins Area Tournament
Hewitt-Trussville Softball swept through the 7A Area 6 Tournament undefeated and won the tournament title on Friday. The Huskies defeated Vestavia 21-6 in the championship game. HT will now compete in the AHSAA East Regional in Montgomery. The Huskies will open the event with a game against Central Phenix City.
HT broke open Friday's championship game with six runs in the 2nd inning. Anyce Harvey and Kenleigh Cahalan homered in the inning. The offense continued to dominate scoring six more runs in the 3rd inning and eight runs in the 4th inning.
Anyce Harvey was 5-5 at the plate with four RBI's and four runs scored. Hannah Dorsett was 4-4 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Kenleigh Cahalan was 3-3 with six RBI's.

HTHS Boys Basketball Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2021-2022 HTHS Boys Basketball teams will take place May 24-26. Rising 10th-12th grade students will tryout from 3:45pm-5:15pm daily. Rising 9th graders will tryout from 5:30pm-7:00pm daily.
Students must be 100% on Dragonfly paperwork prior to trying out.

Baseball Completes 2021 Season
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball finished the 2021 season with a 28-6 overall record. The Huskies dropped the State Quarterfinal series to Hoover with 2-1 and 3-1 losses. The Huskies were ranked #1 in the final regular season poll of the season.
This season the Huskies put together a 17-game winning streak. That winning streak was the longest in school history. HT went 4-2 in 7A Area 6 to win the area title. Coach Jeff Mauldin's team advanced to the quarterfinals with a series win over Grissom in the opening round of the 7A playoffs.

Tyree and Quick Named to All-Star Teams
The North-South Baseball and Softball All-Star Teams have been selected for the 2021 AHSAA North-South All-Star Sports Week, announced Jamie Lee, Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA).
The teams comprised of 2022 rising seniors were chosen by a special coaches committee from nominations received from AHSAA member school coaches.
Hewitt-Trussville's Riley Tyree will play on the North Softball team. Tyree and her teammates will play in the East Regional on Friday. Riley Quick was named to the North Baseball squad. Quick and his teammates finished the 2021 season with a 28-6 record.

Husky Hoops Tip-Off Camp
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Basketball is scheduled to host the Husky Hoops Tip-Off Camp beginning July 12. The event will run July 12-July 14 from 9am-Noon each day. The event will be held inside Bryant Bank Arena at Hewitt-Trussville High School.

Girls Flag Football
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) recently announced that Girls Flag Football will be a sanctioned sport in the Fall of 2021. Hewitt-Trussville High School plans to field a Varsity Girls Flag Football team if enough students are interested.
If you are a female student in grades 7-12 and plan to tryout for the Varsity Girls Flag Football team, please complete the google form below. More information will be shared when available.

HTMS Girls Basketball Tryouts Begin May 17
Tryouts for the 2021-2022 HTMS Basketball teams will be held May 17 and May 18 from 3:30pm-5:00pm at Hewitt-Trussville High School. Tryouts are open to TCS students that will be in 7th Grade or 8th Grade for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students must be 100% on Dragonfly paperwork prior to trying out.

Any rising 7th-8th graders interested in running cross country should sign up using the google form below.
Evaluations for MS runners will be May 24 from 3:30pm-5pm at the track. This will be an opportunity for new runners to learn about the sport prior to summer workouts.
