Families of Incoming 7th graders- IMPORTANT!

All incoming 7th grade students will need to submit proof of current immunizations, including a Tdap and second varicella immunization to receive their scheduled classes for 7th grade at our August Resgistration (date TBD).

California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions and all students advancing to 7th grade before entry. Parents must show their child's Immunization Record as proof of immunization. Every 7th grade student must show proof of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) —(usually given at 11 years and up) and Varicella (Chickenpox) — 2 doses (usually given at ages 12 months and 4-6 years).

Please take a clear picture of your student's immunization record and email it to bowkerm@mdusd.org by June 30th.

*PLEASE NOTE- Proof of immunizations will be required to get your student's 7th grade schedule.

Sequoia Parent Faculty Club- Come join us for 2021-2022 school year! (Report)

The Sequoia Middle School Parent Faculty Club has been extremely lucky to have some great PFC Board Members in the past few years who will be leaving us as their students promote to High School in a couple weeks. Now we need your support!

The PFC is made up of parents and faculty volunteers that work together to support academic and social programs for our school. We partner with you and our community to fundraise but most importantly for volunteerism. Most of what the PFC does is volunteering and recruiting volunteers to help with activities at school that help enrich our students’ experience. Let’s help make sure this next year at Sequoia Middle School is a full of a great education and a lot of wonderful memories for our students.

The PFC meetings are help once a month from September through May.

If you would like to be learn more about the PFC and what you can do to help please email our current President, Pete Reno. You may also reach out to our Principal, Lisa Keck.

Textbook and Chromebook Check-In Schedule- (also sent on Parent Square)

As the year is coming to an end, we are planning events where we will collect the textbooks and Chromebooks that were checked out by our families. Due to the pandemic, the sheer volume of these items require us to have many hands on deck to efficiently orchestrate a smooth Drive-thru drop off so we may reuse them again when we resume in "Fall for All" next year.
Please click on the link below to sign up and help us in our textbook/Chromebook collection efforts :-)

Students that come to campus for Hybrid In-person learning will return textbooks in person, schedule below:

**Please note that Chromebook collection will happen AFTER the last day of school on Thursday on June 3rd at our Drive-Thru event.

We are reserving the last day of school for our 8th grade promotion event only. If a parent has a personal device for their student that they may use until June 2nd and they no longer need the school-issued Chromebook, they may come to the office to return at any time. All families will need to fill out the following form for Chromebook check in:
Chromebook Check-in form, click here, print out, fill out and return with Chromebook.
We will have hard copies of the form in the office but we would like to minimize the sharing pens due to health and safety protocols in place. Thank you for understanding.

We thank you in advance for your consideration in helping during one of these two events. The one thing we have all learned during this experience is it takes a village and we are thankful to have you and your student be a part of ours!

Out and about on campus...
