Clean Sweep!
With a score of 81.00, they earned 1st place in Class C along with Best Music, Best Marching, and Best Auxiliary Color Guard! The kids left it all on the field for their finest performance of the season. You can see a video of the performance here.
The Shamrock Marching Band also earned a Division 1 rating at this year's MSBOA District Festival this past Wednesday. Each judge gave the band a "1" and all A's for their performance. We can now boast that we earned "Straight 1's" at Districts!
Last week, your Shamrocks earned 1st place and Best Music at Vicksburg making this the most successful marching band season in recent years. Your students have worked incredibly hard this season. I am so proud of them.
And, with that our marching season is at an end. I want to thank high school principal, Ryan Peace, for traveling to all of our competitions and being the "voice" of the Shamrock Marching Band. It was so much fun to hear his pirate voice set the tone for each performance.
Thank you to all of the band parents who helped us this season. To each parent that tied a bandana, handed out socks/gloves/shoes, drove our trailer, bought/donated food, handed out food, loaded/unloaded the trailer, and 1,000 other details - THANK YOU. It really takes an army to take care of this band. You are so appreciated.
High School Band Students will not need their instruments Monday. We will begin with concert equipment and chrome books on Wednesday.
