Congratulations on making it to May and extra congratulations as we celebrate all teachers with Teacher Appreciate Day/Week/Month.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 3, 2016, as National Teacher Appreciation Day and May 1 through May 7, 2016, as National Teacher Appreciation Week. I call upon students, parents, and all Americans to recognize the hard work and dedication of our Nation's teachers and to observe this day and this week by supporting teachers through appropriate activities, events, and programs.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fortieth.
On behalf of all the students, parents, and community stakeholders I would like to thank all of you for your tireless dedication, your commitment to our students, your flexibility and your great work every day in our classrooms at Sequoia Middle. We appreciate you!!

Thanks to all of our CAASPP proctors for coming to our meeting last week. Reminder to all that we start testing on May 2nd with 8th Grade ELA and 7th Grade Math. Jamey sent out a reminder email regarding the test schedule as well as the moving of Chromebooks between classes. If you have any questions, please ask, or let us support you during the testing window.
I-Ready Assessment Data:
Big shout out to our Math 8 team (Fred, Adam and John) for quickly finishing up the three 8th grade math assessments in two weeks. More importantly, was the great growth with our I-Ready Math Data from September to the end of April. There are great things happening in our classrooms!!
We are looking forward to celebrating our student growth in all grade levels in June!
