- Danielson Framework for Teaching on Video - Genesee ISD has an agreement with Job Skill Technology, Inc. - Educational Impact Video Library SCECHs. If you look at the multi-page “Educational Impact Catalog Course SCECHs” and start at the bottom of page 3, you’ll see the Danielson video courses which are available and the number of SCECHs educators can earn. Genesee ISD is sponsoring all the SCECHs for these courses. The cost for taking any or all of these video classes AND earning SCECHs is only $170 per person. Michigan Snow Days Forgiveness - House Bill 4206 - Michigan schools would not have to reschedule up to four snow days that occurred during an arctic deep freeze under legislation sent Thursday to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her expected signature.
Teacher Evaluation Percentage Based On Student Growth - The House has passed SB 122 and SB 202, bills that will reduce the percentage of educator evaluations that must be based on student growth. The bills require districts to roll back student growth from 40% to 25% of an educators evaluation for the 2018-19 school year. The bill was signed on April 30th and will take immediate effect.
Read by Grade Three Parent Awareness Toolkit - The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) consultants from the Office of Partnership Districts and the Office of Educational Supports have created the MDE Read by Grade Three Parent Awareness Toolkit to be used by districts and parents to better understand components of the law, while also providing resources for districts to perform subsequent trainings with their community of parents and stakeholders. https://goo.gl/6fvhGZ
