Child Labor Laws in Georgia
There are many laws in Georgia that limits the amount of work that can be done by children. You may wonder what the age is considered a child. Any age under 18. Well, there are both federal and state rules that permit different things. A few are:
- Federal- the minimum age that a child can work at is 14
- State- Children 17 and under must have a work permit from school to work.
- Federal- children are only allowed to work 3 hours on a school day
Child Labor Laws in New Jersey (Just a Few)
- Children under 16 may not be employed
- Minors under the age of 18 may not be employed in construction work
- Minors under the age of 18 may not be employed in junk or metal yards
Child Labor Laws in Florida (Just a Few)
- May NOT work during school hours
- No more than 6 consecutive days in one week
- Minimum age for being a newspaper delivery person is 10
Child Labor Laws in France & Japan (Just A Few)
- Japan: Child must be employed right after they turn 15 years old by March 31 (end of school year)
- Japan: Children under 13 years old can only be employed in motion picture production.
- France: Children may not be employed for TV or Radios
- France: Children under 18 cannot work more than 7 hours a day.
