WHES Library
Welcome back!!
August-September 2019
Welcome Back Little Eagles teachers and students
Welcome back to our new school year. I am so happy to be here at Wilmer Hutchins Elementary. I look forward to getting to know each of our new staff members and working with you. Please send me an email or stop by and let me know about any print and/or non-print resources that you would like to have to support your curriculum. If our school does not have them, I can request an inter library loan from any library in the district. I am also not afraid to travel ( to the nearest public library ).
Coding is the Key
We will continue with regular library lessons and adding in Makerspaces and research lessons as well.

Meet the Librarian Ms. Booker
In August 2001 I came to DISD as a former K-2 teacher/ reading recovery teacher of the former Wilmer-Hutchins ISD. Upon entering into the District I taught 2nd grade at the Richard Lagow Elementary campus. I also taught 1st grade reading pull-out and dyslexia pull out classes. As well as being a classroom teacher I was part of several committees: SST, 21st Century campus director, 1st grade lead teacher, Teacher of the Year 2007, master teacher, and member of the CILT team for Reading and Math.
I began my tenure at Wilmer-Hutchins Elementary August 2014 as a Librarian. I have held several positions as well, Hayes Inventory coordinator, webmaster, UIL/ afterschool coordinator, Lone Star Challenge Coach, Yearbook chair, field trip coordinator, Test coordinator, and Jivdya coordinator (kindles).
Recently I have been honor to be a library Gamechanger mentor coach for the district librarians.
This year will be my 29th year in education.
