Ice Skating Rink

LaMotte School is making half of the grass area on our playground a skating rink for the students to enjoy at recess time as well as a little bit of PE time for the students to learn how to skate. With this thought, we are asking that you and your family go on a scavenger hunt to find some skates that maybe aren't being used. We do have a few skates but not near enough to fit everyone into a pair of skates, so your help would be greatly appreciated. LaMotte School would be grateful and the kids would love to be able to skate at recess.

A signed Liability Release form is required for students before they can participate.

The students will also be required to have a helmet, coat, gloves and skates brought from home, in order to skate on the skating rink as well.

If your son or daughter already has a pair of skates that they would like to keep on school grounds for the time being and use, great! If you have skates that are just laying around collecting dust, the students at LaMotte will put them to good use.

If there are any questions about this, please email the health enhancement teacher, Mr. Bleskin, at

Thank you!
