Can I get an amen?
About Christian Culture
Christianity was originally practiced in ancient Palestine under Roman rule. 2 billion people still practice Christianity today. Jesus Christ founded Christianity in 1st century CE. Christians follow the teachings of The Bible. The Holy Law for Christians is the Ten Commandments. The Commandments are laws that govern behavior.
The Crusades
The Crusades were a series of Holy Wars that were aimed to re-capture Christian lands and to defend Christians in non-Christian areas. The Pope told Christians that if they kill Muslims or other non-believers they would get a ticket into heaven. Unfortunately after many failed crusades The Pope lost power and The King became the actual ruler.
Critical Thinking
I think if Jesus Christ were to come back and see how Christianity today is practiced he would be very disappointed and not recognize the religion that he started. One of the main things about Christianity is the golden rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Christianity used to be about inclusiveness and respecting others and their beliefs. Now Christianity is used as a way to discriminate and hate. Jesus tried to make a religion where everyone would love and include, now it has turned into telling people that they will go to eternal hell just because of who they are, who they marry, and how they live the way they want to live.
