iMovie
Photo & Video
What is iMovie?
What is the difference between a Movie and a Trailer?
• Trailer - gives you a template to add short clips of video to. Good for quick video creation.
How can I use it in my classroom?
- Document a field trip to share.
- Create intro videos for lessons.
- Have students create personal intro videos.
- Use it to combine individual class projects into one culminating product.
- Use the picture-in-picture feature to create news style videos.
- Create how-to videos
How do I get started?
2. Tap on projects in the center at the top.
3. Tap the + symbol in the upper right corner.
4. Tap on “Movie” and pick a style for your movie and tap “Create Movie” in the upper right corner.
5. If you have videos in your camera roll already, tap on the video you want, trim the video by moving the yellow edges inward. Preview by tapping play button and insert into your timeline by tapping the curled arrow icon. To add new videos, tap on the camera icon and record.
6. Optional - If you want to add photos or audio, tap on those options in the upper right corner to add to your timeline.
7. To add text to your video, tap on one of the video clips in your timeline. Options will appear on the bottom. Tap on “Title” and pick “Opening”, “Middle”, or “Closing”. Tap on “Title Text Here” and enter what you would like.
8. When done editing your video (don’t worry it autosaves), tap on the backward arrow in the upper left corner. From here you can choose where to share the video. Tap the share icon (square with an arrow pointing up) and select your preferred method. I recommend choosing “Save Video” option. It will save to your camera roll. From there you can upload it your Seesaw student account.
