Cameron Estrella ( Music Teacher)
This will be Cameron's tenth year in education, with 8 of those being in the music classroom. Cameron has taught K-8 music and choir, building up music programs at multiple schools in both Arizona and in Massachusetts, and is super excited to start building up the choir and general music programs here at Riggs. Cameron and his wife had their first child on March 6th of this year, Aubrey Celeste.
Gabi Larson ( STEM Preschool)
Gabi grew up in Salt Lake City, she loves camping and snow skiing with her family. Her Elementary Education degree is from Brigham Young University and she taught for six years in Utah--upper elementary grades and later as a Title I reading specialist. Her husband's work took her to the Philadelphia suburbs where they lived in beautiful Bucks County for thirteen years and she became a parent to four wonderful children. Her oldest son and daughter are both Perry graduates and her twin boys will be juniors at Perry this year.
They moved to Chandler ten years ago and love the sunshine! They are here to stay. She returned to the classroom six years ago and has been teaching PreK at a private preschool while completing her MEd in Early Childhood at ASU. Gabi loves preschool and is so excited to be part of the Riggs faculty.
Geri F. Garcia. (Second Grade)
Geri is a native of Arizona and enjoys its beauty by hiking and camping. She has taught in Chandler since 1996. She has a B.S. in education from Grand Canyon University and M. Ed. from Northern Arizona University. She is endorsed in SEI and early childhood and has taught grades K-3rd, reading intervention and K-6 ELD. Her priorities are her faith, family (school family included), friends and football! Over her years of teaching, she has loved seeing her students grow up, learn and change. She has attended graduations and even weddings of her former students! If you learn one thing about Geri, know that she will always have her students' best interest at heart.
Sigrid Barcelo (PE traveling teacher)
Sigrid Barcelo, has been a teacher with the district for about 25 years. For 23 years she has been a traveling P.E. teacher. She enjoys being a traveling P.E. teacher because she enjoys learning different activities to share with her students. This year she is at Riggs and Auxier.
Sigrid has 3 children, they are in their 30's and are no longer children, but they will always be her kids. She also has 4 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling and going on cruises. She loves the beach!!!! Over the last 4 months she has discovered that she really needs a hobby.
Alexa Bautista (Speech)
Alexa Bautista has been a speech-language pathologist working in public schools for three years. She is a native Arizonan and graduated with her Masters in speech-language pathology from the University of Arizona. When she isn't spoiling her goldendoodle Oliver, Alexa enjoys trying out new recipes, traveling, and playing video games with her fiance.
Tiffani Norton (Second Grade)
Tiffany is very excited to be teaching second grade at Riggs. She grew up in Northern California but has lived in both central and southern California, as well as Washington. Tiffani earned her Bachelors degree and teaching credential from San Diego State. After that she taught both first and second grade in California. Most recently she has stayed home to raise her twins. She and her husband, Tony, and the twins moved to Arizona two years ago. During that time, she has been earning her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and has been subbing here at Riggs. Tiffani loves teaching, baseball, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Meet The Teacher
Per Maricopa County and CUSD policy, anyone entering the building will need to wear a face covering and be symptom free. Upon entering the building we will ask that you sanitize your hands and then proceed directly to your child's classroom.
If you have questions regarding the format or time for your meeting please email your child's teacher or call the main office for assistance.
Student Passwords
Students accounts may not actually be live yet but when the district sends out notification that they have been activated you will use the following to access the virtual platforms. In some cases they may already be active to log in but you won't see any classes until Wednesday morning.
G Suite for Education is how students will access almost everything they will need to participate in distance learning. We learned a few things from 4th quarter and synchronizing log ins was one of them. All CUSD students will have access to all Google Education products such as Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, and Meet/Hangout. There are many other products and features but these are the main ones needed. Please note elementary students will not have access to a G-Mail email account.
All student passwords from last year have been reset, including Infinite Campus passwords. So, when getting started all students will use the following log in and password: s + ID#, and s + ID# + !
LOG IN: s12345
PASSWORD: s12345!
*please note the 's' is lowercase
For G-Suite or your child(ren)'s Google Classroom information, you will use the same as above but will add the @gse.cusd80.com ending for the log on email.
