Second Six Week - Student Feedback, Conferencing and Goal Setting
You have made it through the first six week!!! You are beginning to know and develop relationships with your students. You now understand the unique gaps that you and your students must as a partners to close. Feedback is one of the top 10 influencers on student achievement. John Hattieās research has focused on feedback for a long time. During one of our Monday PD Sessions we frontloaded you concerning the research on Student Feedback as one of the tools you would be using to increase student achievement.
This week's Monday PD will focus on you developing your skills to develop a class schedule for student feedback, conferencing and goal setting. You will also role play both as a student an teacher in order to understand the dynamics of what does a excellent student conference encompass.
- Receiving feedback can be an emotional process. Students may take feedback negatively or deflect the constructive criticism if there is not an established trust relationship. Therefore, the relationships that you develop with your students are crucial to effectively communicating feedback and ensuring that you have a classroom climate that encourages risk taking and sees mistakes as an essential part of learning.
- You will be working on developing you conference calendar

- Consider what will be the challenges to working with your students
