Thank you for your ongoing support and investment in all things District 15.

Portrait of a Graduate
District 15 is in the final year of the three-year Strategic Plan that was developed as part of my entry plan. We are preparing to develop a renewed vision and long-term strategic plan to guide future work. This work will be directly connected to our dynamic Moving 15 Forward plan and will be the first step in preparing to write a five-year Strategic Plan during the 2022-23 school year.
The Portrait of a Graduate will serve as a collective vision that articulates our aspirations for every student in District 15. Many school systems across the country have engaged their larger community in developing a Portrait of a Graduate – every school system’s Portrait is unique, reflecting the shared vision of their community and sets its sights on identifying the most important skills and characteristics for our students to embody by the time they graduate from District 15.
The Portrait answers the following questions:
What are the hopes, aspirations, and dreams that our community has for its young people?
What are the skills and mindsets that our children need for success in this rapidly changing and complex world?
What are the implications for the learning experiences we provide in our school systems?
This work begins next week and will continue through the end of the school year.

There are a lot of people to celebrate in the month of April! All of these important groups in our District have recognition days/weeks in the month of April. More than ever, I want to thank all of these dedicated employees for their hard work and dedication to our District. We simply could not do what we do for our students without them! Thank you!

OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
Summer Construction and Facility Enhancements
As we do every summer, we have a number of projects scheduled to help improve our schools. Here are just a few of our projects that will begin immediately after the school year ends.
Carl Sandburg, Lake Louise, Stuart R. Paddock, Virginia Lake, Willow Bend, Winston Campus, and Walter R. Sundling will receive enhancements to their libraries that will include new carpet, paint, flexible seating, and lighting upgrades.
The remaining schools will be completed over the next few years as part of our 5-year facility and maintenance plan.
All of our schools will receive an influx of new titles to ensure our collections are modern and of high interest to students.
Plum Grove and Walter R. Sundling will receive some new lockers to ensure students no longer have to share lockers. This decision was made to match their growing enrollment.
