Elizabeth was born in 1533 to king Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn. She was raised to believe that God had chosen her family to rule England. She received an excellent education and studied history, public speaking, moral philosophy. Also she could speak Greek, Latin, French and Italian fluently. After the death of her half sister Mary in 1588 she took the throne. She was known as a cunning, kind and smart ruler. Her subjects loved her so much that they would obey her command if she asked.
The rule of queen Elizabeth brought about a golden age for England. This was known as the Elizabethean Era. Elizabeth herself enjoyed dance, music and the theater. She was an excellent orator and always dressed well. This displayed her wealth and power.
