Our Media Center will also be having the Scholastic Book Fair and the hours for visiting and shopping will be from 5:00-7:00pm.

From 5:30-6:00pm, a short meeting will be held in the Multipurpose Room for families regarding PTO needs/wishes, Leader in Me, and Title I information.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

Impact Aid

On September 25, 2017, Onslow County Schools will have hit their twentieth day of school. At this time, parents are asked to complete a federal card which provides funding to our schools. Please make sure you complete this card in pencil and turn in to your child's homeroom teacher. The federal cards will be available to complete at Open House. The cards represent if you are military connected, are employed on military property, reside on military property, or if you are not military connected you would simply click the box for no. The information you provide on this card helps track our military partnerships which is how the extra funding is provided.

We greatly appreciate your assistance with completing and returning cards. This is a huge benefit to all Onslow County Schools!

Reading for Education Program

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce that our school is participating in the Reading for Education Program. Your student will be bringing home an envelope soon with the words "Attention Parents" across the top. Please take 10 minutes to complete the materials in the envelope and return them to school. That is all you have to do for your student to earn a prize and our school to earn money. Our kickoff for this program will be Monday, September 11th.

Thank you for your support!

RPS Staff

September is Attendance Awareness Month

Did you know that children can suffer academically if they miss 10% of the school year? That is just 18 days or 2-3 days a month. We would like to celebrate Attendance Awareness Month at RPS. Our goal is to get all students to school, on time, every day. We know there will be days when your child will miss school, especially when they're sick. But we know that nationwide, as many as 7.5 million students miss 10% of the school year, which is 135 million days a year. That is also 135 million days of missed opportunities.

So, let's work together to get your child to school, on time, every day! For every child that attends school every day for the month of September, we will celebrate by recognizing your child with a small treat at the end of the month. Our school social worker is leading this recognition. If you should have any questions, please ask to speak with Mrs. Harmon.
