Leader in Me

Welcome back Heritage Heroes! We are so excited to see your smiling faces. Habit 1 is Be Proactive and it teaches us about our circle of control. Right now, there are things we cannot control; however, we can control ourselves, attitudes and our outlook. As we reboot our school year, we want to continue making great leadership choices. Let’s come back having a positive attitude and willing to help one another succeed in reaching our goals. Remember Heritage Heroes, we have seven habits that will help us overcome and have a successful school year.

Pop-Up Learning Activity

Thank you Gospel Chapel First Church of God for allowing Heritage Elementary to use your facility as a pop-up learning facility. Thank you for all the teachers and volunteers that participated in teaching our Heritage students. There were 51 students that received instruction in math, reading and art.

Community Leadership Class

Welcome to Community Leadership! We are off to a great start for what is going to be a great year! In Leadership class we have been discussing good and bad habits, what the word leadership means, and what leaders may look like in and out of the classroom, as well as leaders within our community. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking closely at Habit 1, Be Proactive. Habit 1states, "I'm in charge of myself". Students will be learning about their own circle of control and will find if they focus on what they can control (which is themselves), it will allow others to view them as leaders. They will be challenged to show initiative, at home and at school, by doing things they know they need to without being asked to do them. For example: making their beds, cleaning up after themselves, and being quiet in line are a few ways students can show initiative. We have a lot of “learning fun” in Community Leadership as we are growing leaders!
