TIPS Journal October 1, 2021
on the school year so far
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
The TIPS Journal is one way of staying connected with TIPS families about once a month this school year.
The first Sports Day of the year will be on October 8. We hope to have one each quarter this year. There is no change to arrival and dismissal times. We will have an altered schedule that allows us to play sports in the afternoon in our big backyard. The rain date for Sports Day is October 15.
Our Hallowe'en festivities will be on Friday, October 29. The annual costume contest will be amazing if it is anything like years past. Last year the costumes were so exquisite we created new categories for the contest. Students in costume will get a treat from me. The PSA is also very giving of their time to make the day memorable. For those of you who come from countries that do not celebrate Hallowe'en, think of it as a costume party with candy on the menu. For those of you who do not include sugar in your child's diet, a sticker pack will be the alternative from me. Let me know who you are if I don't know this about you already.
Our school has been invited to the Ex-Pat Expo in Hamamatsu-cho November 5 - 6. The location is the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center. We will be there promoting TIPS and would love to see you if your family has free time that Saturday. Artwork from some of our art students will be on display. You may read (in Japanese and English) more about the expo here:

Thanks for reading. Any questions, please ask!
