A Letter From the Principal
Hello, Northwest families! First trimester is quickly coming to a close. Please be checking your student’s grades in PowerSchool to help them finish strong. We will be switching to second trimester schedules on Wednesday, November 20. If you have questions about grades or assignments, please contact your student’s teachers.
There is a lot of important information in this month’s newsletter. Please take special note of the news from the health office. The district policy requires students to stay home with a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Students are also required to be fever and vomit free for 24 hours before returning to school. Following these rules will help your student be more successful in the classroom and help to prevent the spread of germs.
Second trimester we will be starting a new opportunity called Career Talk Tuesdays! We are welcoming family and community members to our school to share about their jobs and the educational journey it took to get there. Talks will be on Tuesdays from 10:30-10:55 in the theater. Those interested in sharing their careers, can sign up here! Students will be able to sign up to join the talk during homeroom. We are hoping to have a wide variety of careers featured so our students can learn about many different opportunities.
November is a time for thanks and gratitude. I want to say thank you for a wonderful group of students we have this year! They are kind and polite and want to do well in school. Although not every day is perfect, they strive to be better each day and learn from their mistakes -- which is what junior high is all about! I am also very grateful for the amazing teachers and staff that put their whole heart into all that they do! We are all so lucky to work with such a caring and fun group of people. I am also thankful for all of the supportive parents who are always willing to help out with anything that we ask and are there for their students every day. Are you thankful for someone this year? I challenge you to send them a message and let them know! Nothing is more motivating than a kind word. Spread kindness like confetti!
I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! Please enjoy the time with your family and friends. If you have any questions or if I can help in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you!
