CONGRATULATIONS TO BURLESON ELEMENTARY'S NEW MAYOR -- RIGGIN DAY

GREAT JOB TO ALL OUR CANDITATES AND OUR STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM!!
A NOTE FROM MRS. COFFMAN
Riggin Day, the 2020-2021 mayor, will present ideas to the school board and work with me to create a student leadership team representing each grade level on campus. We know that taking ownership in change produces respect, increases motivation, and creates an overall love for our campus. We are dedicated to teaching our students lifelong leadership skills and producing good citizens. The children are our future, and we are going to have a bright one!
The end of the quarter is October 9th. Please encourage your children to complete work and take AR tests. Broncoville, our AR store, will open after the end of the quarter for students to "purchase" rewards with their points. We love rewarding hard work! Fifth-grade students will be interviewed on October 9th by local business owners to earn the job of managing a store. Please make sure your fifth-grade child dresses to impresses for their interviews! If you are ever at Wal-Mart and want to purchase toys for our store, we would gladly take the donations! The more the students read, the more we have to replenish our store shelves!

NURSE'S CORNER
Parents,
I just want to remind you that I will be reviewing immunization records soon, so please make sure that your student is up to date on immunizations and that we have the most updated copy of immunization records in the office. Also, as we move into cold and flu season, please be sure to keep your child at home if they are sick, and if they have fever over 100.0 they have to stay home until they have been fever free for 3 days without using medications. This does not apply to bacterial infections (such as strep throat or pink eye) being treated with antibiotics. Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding your individual case. I can’t stress enough the importance of frequently washing hands to prevent the spread of infection! Please encourage good hand hygiene at home!
Thank you!

¡Gracias!
