Guzick GOLD News Summer Edition
2019-2020
Principal Message
"Lights! Camera! Action! Rolling out the red carpet for student success!"
Greetings Guzick Family,
In a few weeks we will be together again to welcome our Guzick Giant students, families, and community to an exciting 2019-2020 school year. Last year, we explored all the possibilities of learning. We created an environment where innovative ideas were embraced to ensure academic success for ALL students. The greatest academic successes we experienced last year was due in great part to the implementation of "non-traditional", yet very effective instructional strategies in the classroom.
As we shift our focus to the new school year, I want each of you to consider the following quote:
"The only thing that stands between a person and what they want in life is the will to try it and the faith to believe it possible."
This particular quote resonates with me because over the past few years as a campus we have implemented innovative ideas to a certain degree. As a result we have created more educational and social opportunities for our students. Our campus has become a place where all stakeholders are beginning to understand and accept the "Guzick Way". Last year we worked a lot on developing a collective mindset around instructional and behavioral expectations. This year, we will ensure that our language matches our actions and we are embracing all of the possibilities that will lead us to "consistent" high student achievement. Through both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, we will be more intentional about meeting the varied needs of all stakeholders in the Guzick Giant Organization! It's all about turning it up a notch and adding that extra degree, which makes all the difference.
"Lights! Camera! Action! Rolling out the red carpet for student success" is our theme for the 2019-2020 school year. Now, what does that mean? To me, it means that here at Guzick, every person who is a part of this organization is a "STAR"! Yes, that means YOU TOO! Every student, teacher, parent, and staff member deserves to be recognized for being an exceptional human being. When we see ourselves as "STARS", as the valuable human beings that we are, we have a greater chance of making a lasting impression on the lives of our students. So, let's come into the new school year focused on working together, taking chances, being innovative, and finding ways to make learning fun and exciting!
It is an honor to work alongside a team of educators who are willing to roll up their sleeves and provide an exciting, rewarding, and worthwhile learning experience for our Guzick Giants! I hope each of you continue to enjoy the rest of your summer and I look forward to August 8, 2019 when I am surrounded again with all of My Guzick Family!

#YOURWHY
"If you can't figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose." - Bishop T.D. Jakes
What brings you peace, joy, comfort? What's your purpose? Your passion? We will be embracing the idea of defining YOUR WHY this school year and also during a special session, led by Mrs. Verseckes, during our Back to School Institute.
In the meantime, please reflect on something tangible that can begin to describe your passion and/or purpose in life and TAKE A PICTURE of this special something. Think outside of the box!
Please upload your picture HERE and remember to save the picture under your first and last name. Only one picture per staff member. Please have all pictures uploaded by Friday, August 9, 2019 at 12noon.
