Message from the Principal

Dear Lynnhaven families,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message to our families. This past weekend, we were notified of the untimely death of one of our staff members, Sonja Goldson-Trotman. Mrs. Goldson-Trotman was a PALS teachers here at Lynnhaven for a number of years and made an incredible mark on many students.

Understandably, the death of a teacher may be extremely traumatic to a child. While Mrs. Goldson-Trotman did not work individually with children this school year, she may have worked with your child(ren) in previous years. With this in mind, arrangements have been made to provide the assistance of additional counselors in our school should their services be needed by any of our students or staff. Please contact our office directly, reach out to your child's teacher, or reach out to our school counselor, Ms. Cofield, should you wish for your child to seek counseling.

As a PALS teacher here at Lynnhaven, Ms. Goldson-Trotman will be greatly missed. Her work made a positive impact on the lives of so many of our students, and she was a valued member of our Lion family.

We will join you in sharing our condolences to Ms. Goldson-Trotman’s family and keeping them in our hearts, especially here so close to the holiday season.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 648-3000.

Sincerely,

Teri Breaux
