A Glimpse of this Past Week...
Phew! We made it through first semester exams! A big thank you to all of the teachers, guidance members, and administration who stepped up to be readers for the students with accommodations, as well as stepping in to sub for any teacher who may have been under the weather. Unfortunately it seemed that there was a bit of the flu going around our school towards the end... I pray that everyone gets healthy (or stays healthy) for the holiday festivities!
The grade meetings went especially smooth this year, as we implemented Mrs. Loy to fill in if I was getting a bit behind due to more extensive discussions with some of you. I knew that might be the case, so I wanted to make sure that we covered all that was needed and you felt good about going on break with nothing hanging over your heads.
We do have many students that need to make up exams, and administration and guidance will be working with those students to make up exams and other outstanding work over break so as to minimize the number still outstanding when we return to school in January. We appreciate the teachers who worked with us to collect the exams and were willing to provide keys or grade them for us.
Finally, we hope you had as good a time at our Christmas breakfast as we did! It was great to see everyone together, enjoying each other's company if even for a short while! Glad so many were able to walk away with a raffle prize too! Thanks to Peggy and all the office staff who helped make this breakfast possible!
Looking ahead...
Since this will be the only "Week-At-A -Glance" during the holidays... a quick reminder about grade changes for Semester 1. The portal will remain closed to parents as we continue to update grades through Monday, January 8 at 3 pm, after which we will be reopening it for students and parents to see semester grades. Because of this, please note the following...
- If you are making ANY changes to a student's grade between now and 3 pm, January 8, you are able to make those changes yourself, however you MUST "un-submit" and "resubmit" that period. You MUST also contact Ms. Novy via email to notify her of the specifics of the change.
- If you find you need to make a change after 3 pm January 8, you MUST submit a grade change form, found on the last page of the Exam Procedures packet, to Ms. Novy, as you will not be able to get into the Semester 1 grade portal any more.
If you have any questions or need help. please let us know.
With no other business to really concern ourselves with. as we close 2017... I want to again wish each of you and your families the most blessed Christmas and New Years. My heart is full knowing that I have the fortune to work with such caring, dedicated people. I look forward to a fresh new semester, and continuing to provide the best environment for Staffulty and students to thrive in.
Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years!
