APEX Wrap-up
We have closed out the 3rd Annual APEX Fun Run fundraiser and were able to collect 92% of the pledges. We are thrilled to announce that we made $42,000 profit for West Cypress Hills Elementary! Thank you students, parents and staff for helping make this fundraiser such a success for our school.
As a result, our teachers have earned over $7,700 that they will be getting directly back to their classrooms to fulfill their personal wish lists. The remainder will support the WCH Library and other school wish list items.
In addition to our teachers and school benefiting from the success, our Tigers partnered with Apex and the Will Play For Food Foundation to help end childhood hunger in America. For every student who reached $10/lap pledged, up to 40 meals will be donated to local children in need. We had 73 WCH students reach the $10/level so that’s up to 2,920 meals donated!
Thank you for all of your support. Our Tigers should be extremely proud of their effort.

OCPE Program
Off Campus Physical Education (OCPE) students need APPROVED OCPE PROVIDERS! The purpose of the OCPE Program is to accommodate students who are making a serious effort to develop higher-level skills in a specific activity that exceed what the school district can offer through the general physical education program.
The OCPE Program allows students in 6th through 12th grades to earn credits that meet the district and state physical education requirements. Students will be expected to be physically educated, along with being physically active. They will be expected to show accountability of skill development, learned physical activity and health concepts and social development through participation in their selected physical activity that are based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Physical Education.
If you know of any Lakeway and/or Westlake community physical education providers who have not yet been approved by the LTISD School Board, please ask them go to the LTISD webpage to complete and submit an application: https://goo.gl/cQtkMF
Provider applications submitted to the Health and Social Programs Coordinator by February 10, 2017, will be considered for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Student applications are completed separately from this process. Contact hassenfratzk@ltisdschools.org if there are any questions concerning this.
School Dismissal Manager
Please help us to help you get students home safely! School Dismissal Manager is our source for collecting and storing student transportation changes. Please be sure to log transportation changes in www.schooldismissalmanager.com instead of phoning or sending transportation updates by email. Changes can be entered in advance but definitely need to be entered in School Dismissal Manager no later than 1:30 pm the day the change is effective. Absences, tardies, and early releases can also be scheduled in our School Dismissal Manager.
