Family Celebration Day

King Event Family Celebration Day

Are you a 4th Grader and want to take Band next year?

If you have already signed your child up for band, please disregard this message!

Friendly reminder that current fourth grade families can sign up for band now through the end of the school year. Please click the link below to sign up for fifth grade band next year. There is no band fee unless you are renting an instrument. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Silva, music teacher, at scollins@framingham.k12.ma.us, or AJ Burgess, band director, at aburgess@framingham.k12.ma.us for more information!

Signups are open through the end of the school year. If your child does not want to participate in band, or is still deciding, please reach out and let me know. We work around the band signups to make schedules, so the sooner we know if a student is planning on being in band, the easier it is for us!

Please check out this Sign Up Genius to choose a dish to bring and volunteer to help out! After dinner, the 5th graders are invited to stay for a fun night of games and music from 7:00-8:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

*Last day of the school year car parade! 6/22

Let's celebrate the amazing work done not only by the kids but the entire King community this year! It's become tradition that families decorate their cars for pickup on the last day of school - think streamers, balloons, signs, window markers, gold and purple decorations, music, etc! Does your child take the bus? Have a sign or balloons at the bus stop or home! Walker? Meet them at King on the last day with a sign or balloons! If you are in need of decorations, please reach out to ptokingrecordingsecretary@gmail.com.

*Ultimate Lion Challenge Committee meeting 6/28 7pm

On Wednesday June 28 please join the first committee meeting for those interested in helping with next school year's Ultimate Lion Challenge, currently scheduled for Friday Sept 29, 2023. A Zoom link will be provided in next week's Smore. Hope to see many of you there!

Meet the King Staff!

Allergy Friendly Classrooms

  • We ask that snacks (that are often eaten in the classroom) do not include nuts or nut butters. All classroom spaces at King this year will be allergy friendly rooms. Students are, however, allowed to have nuts and nut butters as part of their lunches in the cafeteria.
  • In the cafeteria each classroom has 2 tables. One is labeled allergy friendly. We ask that any students that have nut or nut butter allergies sit at these tables; we ask that any students who have nut or nut butters as part of their lunch sit at the other tables.
  • Students have been introduced to this in the cafeteria already, and will be reminded by their classroom teachers again.
