Weekly Knight News
Week of 4-30-18
Busy Week!
The first week of May is always very busy. It is the week we traditionally visit incoming seventh grade students. However, this year we will be visiting incoming seventh graders one day and the next day visiting incoming sixth graders. Very excited to meet our new students and begin the process of scheduling for next school year!
Thursday evening there will be scheduling meetings with both sets of students and their parents.
We end the week with our Goodbye end of year dance. Always a great evening for our students.
Current 7th Grade Schedule Meeting
On Thursday during NE the 7th graders will be meeting with Lisa in the auditorium to start the scheduling process for next school year.
Interviews and New Staff
This past week we found two new staff members to join our group. Thank you to Nancy for interviewing after school for three days and a total of five different applications! We found a science teacher, Haley Plikard, that has taught the past two years as a long term substitute teacher at Northridge. she will be a great addition to our science department!
We also found a new PE/Health teacher. Taylor Fry currently teaches K-12 at Hamilton and also coaches softball and is the Junior class sponsor. She brings some great ideas, an upbeat personality, and love of teaching to our building.
This Thursday we have four interviews for our open ELA position. I will also be setting up interviews to fill our open instructional assistant positions.
Collaboration
Collaboration will be with your teams on Monday morning.
P.D. Folder
Just a reminder to continue to work on your professional development goals for this school year. You will need 12 artifacts (minimum of six Idea Bandits) in your folder before the end of year meeting with your evaluating administrator.
If you're out, turn it out
Keep that saying in mind with your energy consumption. If you are out of your room, turn the lights off. Before you leave each evening take a look around and turn off power strips, TVs, monitors, etc...
