Name: Cailey Aandal
Parents: Julie and Travis Aandal
Siblings: Sydney - 2021 STMA Grad, Zach - Freshman
Plans after high school: I have committed to the Air Guard and will be stationed in Texas for two months starting in July. Immediately following that, I will go to Technical School for 6 months in Maryland. Once completed, I will be attending the College of St. Benedict.
Most Memorable STMA Moment: For me it our Cross Country meets at Gale Woods. Running races there was always a great experience. In addition, the energy at our football games was always amazing.
Teacher Who Has Impacted Me: Ms. Vander Heiden has been very impactful. She always pushed me to do my best. I really like her teaching style and being in her class.
I Love STMA Because: I love STMA because the environment is positive and encouraging to students. The school motto of "Excellence is our Tradition" pushes the students to be their best.
Name: Josh Segler
Parents:Theresa and Fred Segler
Siblings: no siblings, I'm an only child
Plans after high school: I will be attending St. Cloud State University. I will be majoring in Criminal Justice. My goal some day is to become a Federal Agent.
Most Memorable STMA Moment: My most memorable STMA moment is from a football game my junior year against Wayzata. I was playing in the final play on defense and we made a great play to stop Wayzata from winning. The energy on the field was incredible and winning that game made us the first STMA team in the 6A conference to go to state.
Teacher Who Has Impacted Me: I would say the teacher that has impacted me the most has been Mr. Loecken. I have had him for a lot of classes and he is funny, makes a lot of jokes and is really calm. Mr. Loecken is easy to talk and I appreciate him as a teacher.
I Love STMA Because: I love STMA because of the people. My friends, the students, our staff, Mr. Pete and the lunch ladies are awesome. They all make you smile everyday.

Mental Health
Stress
Stress can affect people of all ages, no matter what stage of life they are in. As a teenager, stress can show up in many different areas, both physically and emotionally, and maintaining life balance can seem like a difficult task. Learn more about stress, its causes, symptoms, and how you can build resiliency with help from Change to Chill.
Causes of Stress
Different things cause stress for different people. Some might think that an upcoming math test is a big deal, while others won’t give it a second thought. The same is true at different ages and stages of our lives. What bothers us at age 3 won’t be the same as what gets us riled up at age 12, 20 or 50.
Being aware of what causes you stress is one step in learning how to handle it well.
Symptoms of Stress
There is so much pressure to “do and be your best” in school, at home, online, in after-school activities and your social life…just about everywhere. Yet many of the things people do to try to be their best actually work against them and cause stress. Stress, it turns out, is a HUGE BARRIER to almost everything.
We’ve all had times when our bodies react to stress. We can feel it. It’s the sensation known as fight or flight. Our bodies’ natural way of coping with being frightened or challenged is to release chemicals into our bloodstream that provide extra short-term energy and alertness.
The Screen-Stress Connection
Screen time gets a lot of attention, and let’s be honest: Time spent online and especially on our phones gets a pretty bad rap…especially from older folks. It’s blamed for everything from bad posture to social isolation.
As a teen today, you are the first generation to grow up with nearly constant access to electronic media and social interaction. While there’s no doubt there’s a connection between screen time and stress, there are also lots of positive ways that screens help us communicate, learn, play, and participate in the world around us.

To send an official transcript, log onto our electronic send service, Parchment.com, using the link on the Guidance Office webpage. Orders can be placed now and simply choose HOLD FOR GRADES to ensure that the transcript will have all of your senior year grades and your graduation date on it.
