Nassau County School District continues to have positive events occurring on our campuses. Take a look at some of the things that have happened recently.

Red Ribbon Week Builds Character

Yulee Elementary School celebrated Red Ribbon Week and proved β€œIt Takes Character to Say NO to Drugs!” Students and staff dressed up like their favorite book characters and paraded around the school in celebration.

Thank You!

Emma Love Hardee Elementary celebrated their custodial staff with goodies and words of affirmation. Faculty, staff, students and administration were happy to share notes of appreciation with their team.

Ms. Smith, Mrs. Clark, and Mrs. Hogue were prepped and ready to celebrate National Lunch Week.

Learning S'more About Science

The 5th-grade students in Mrs. Stewart's class at Hilliard Elementary learned about physical and chemical changes while making s’mores. The students enjoyed the learning experience and the yummy treat!

Virtual Heroes

Callahan Elementary School is proud of their distance learning teachers. They are always full of smiles each day.

Facebook Face-Off

The grade levels at Callahan Intermediate competed in a Facebook competition for the best book character theme. It was a tight race, but third grade won the competition. The whole grade level was given extra planning time the following week! Congratulations!

Congratulations to Cole Beamish, the Adult Education Student of the First Quarter. He will be presented an award at the Nassau County School Board Meeting on November 12th.

Callahan πŸ’—'s Cason

During Principal Appreciation Month, Dr. Monica Cason, from Callahan Intermediate School, was showered with flowers, gifts, letters from students, and signs as a thank you from the CIS family. Dr. Cason goes above and beyond to make Callahan Intermediate an amazing school. Thank you for all that you do!

SUPER Readers

Mrs. Hogue, from Emma Love Hardee Elementary, implemented the SUPER model for intensive Reading in Ms. Hebert's room. The SUPER model is Setting Up Pirates for Excellence in Reading. Students are enjoying learning strategies to continue building reading comprehension.

WILD Warriors!

Each Thursday in October was WILD for Callahan Intermediate School. Faculty, staff, and students dressed in safari attire & implemented WILD learning strategies! Check out the video of their adventure.

Hunger-Free Campus

Dr. Lauren Jones, Director of Food & Nutrition Services, is pleased to announce that all 16 schools were awarded the Hunger-Free Campus Recognition at the bronze level for all their efforts in support school meals and feeding our children and community.

Dance to Dunk

Yulee Elementary's students participated in a "Just Dance" fundraiser event. As a result of meeting the school-wide goal, the students were able to dunk their principals in a dunk tank. This was a fun and exciting day for students and Mr. Cubbal & Mrs. Grubbs!

Battle of the Doors

The District Office held a door decorating contest for the FL/GA game. Each department or person decorated their door to support their team/teams.
