Dermochelys coriacea
By: Victor R.
Leatherback Sea Turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) are the most largest of all the turtles and also the most closest to their extinct family, the Protostegidae. They with their six endangered cousins are the closest representatives that we have to Cretaceous period but if we can't learn to help these endangered animals then we might as well stop fore we haven't helped them but we're killing them at a rather astonishing rate.
Young,Innocent but....Eradicated by..US
By no means are these creatures murdered by the environment but by us. We...
- Eat them because of how delicious they are.
- Kill them for souvenirs that we like to buy when on vacation.
- We kill them for their medical properties.
Giving a helping hand
Organizations such as WWF help these endangered animals to survive their first weeks of life or when they -the females- go back to the Ocean, once they have laid the eggs.
Remember, you can prevent their Extinction!
Naturally it falls into our hands to help these poor animals considering that we harmed them in the first place. You can help by Recycling your plastic items & not throw them into a body of water, Don't eat them!-gosh!-, and educate others about this problem that we've made.
Dangers of PLASTIC!
Such materials are not only a hazard to the marine life environment but to us as well as when it does finally break-down, all those chemicals that were used in the 'birth' of that plastic will be sprung unto the air we breathe. So, in truth by helping these endangered animals live longer, so will we in the long run.

Remember, Only you and your actions can help us -as a whole- help prevent the extinction of the Leatherback Sea Turtle!
