Hello Northpoint families:
These spring months are a time of tremendous growth for students. We really see students growing into their next levels of development and learning. As educators, we want to take every opportunity to focus on each student’s strengths, interests and needs as we create meaningful learning tasks. As we wind down the year, we don’t lose sight of this goal! Please be sure to look at communication from your child’s teachers for specific information on the engaging and authentic experiences going on in their classrooms over the next few months!
Spring is also the time of year for a variety of assessments. Please remember these are one aspect of your child’s progress, a snapshot of one day in time documenting their progress. Along with this information, we put great value in the day-to-day learning that each child demonstrates. These ongoing insights into each child’s journey help teachers adjust instruction in order to move children forward in meeting their grade level targets and learning goals. Here are some specific assessment dates for you to be aware of:
- April 4 - MAP Reading/Kindergarten (Yellow Pod)
- April 5 - MAP Reading/First Grade, Second Grade, EdVentures
- April 6 - MAP Reading/Kindergarten (Red Pod)
- April 7 - MAP Reading/Multiage 1-2
- April 7 - MAP Math/Second Grade
As a reminder, report cards for the end of trimester 2 are posted in Campus Parent Portal. If you have questions or need help, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) or our office.
With April’s arrival this week, we look forward to warmer days ahead. I love hearing the birds singing, seeing the leaves budding, and the extended daylight hours that are all associated with April! I hope that you can get outside and enjoy all that the Minnesota spring has to offer!
