EXTRA Fun From the Library
April 13 Extensions and Enrichment from Mrs. Linse
Librarians help kids read and learn, no matter where they are!
Full Time Kid
Today I want to feature a webpage hosted by PBS called Full Time Kid. This is full of craft and science videos that are perfect for Primary School kids. If you're looking for some activities your family might say Yes to, look through these videos (hosted by a little girl named Mya) while thinking about the supplies you know about in your house. This isn't the time to go buy random ingredients, but so much offered on this website has really common household materials!

Reading Forts
Keep it fresh by trying out Myon (from classlink), and keep at it with a reading journal to celebrate the work you're doing! Another fun way to make reading fun is to build a fort for your half hour (at least) of reading time. Use the dining room table, couch cushions, every pillow you can scramble, and your biggest stuffed animals! Ask for a sheet to put over chairs to make tunnels into the fort, drag end tables under blankets, and bring in your own flashlight if you're reading print books, or maybe a special nightlight if you're reading on an electronic device.
Reading forts can be designed as a pyramid, a cube, or a cave. Sketch and label a plan first and show your family if you need permission. Be creative, decorate the inside, choose some of your tiniest stuffed animals as your audience, and KEEP READING!
