LVUSD Students Teach Social-Emotional Well-Being Through Literacy
The Las Virgenes Unified School District has long been recognized as a destination district for early literacy development. Over the past three years, school libraries have been redesigned, new curriculum has been adopted, and contemporary reading and writing strategies are used daily by our teachers.
As new classroom libraries have been curated in all elementary classrooms, teachers are using their books to teach the tenets of our Student 360 initiative: Positive Mindset, Persistence, Empathy, Mindfulness, and Collaboration. This whole-child approach helps students develop healthy minds and hearts, while also developing the tools for lifelong success.
Jessica Lahey Coming to LVUSD

Jessica is nationally recognized as an expert in the areas of parenting and raising balanced, healthy children. Her message empowers parents to allow their children to struggle, grow from mistakes, and develop self-efficacy.
