Prairie Trails
September 12, 2021 Weekend Update
Good Evening,
We will be starting safety drills this week, and they will be spread out over the next few weeks. As a reminder, the drills that we practice in school are evacuation (i.e. fire drill), hard lock down, bus evacuation, and shelter-in-place (i.e. tornado drill). A new state law requires schools to give parents an opportunity to opt out of the hard lock down drill. If you prefer that your child does not participate, please email me.
Teachers will go over the expectations for each type of drill. We will remind students that it is essential to listen and to follow their teacher directions at all times.
Shield testing has now officially moved to Wednesday. Each week our students are getting better and faster at producing enough saliva to obtain a viable sample to test.
Hope you had a great weekend, and GO BEARS!
Respectfully,
Amy Veytsman
