The Olymics
The Olympic games are held every four years and are held in different locations each time. The locations are decided by the International Olympic Committee.
Ancient Greek clothing was typically homemade and the same piece of homespun fabric that was used as a type of garment, or blanket. From Greek vase paintings and sculptures, we can tell that the fabrics were intensely colored and usually decorated with intricate designs.
The Ancient Greeks were the first Europeans to read and write with an Alphabet, which eventually led to all modern European languages. The Ancient Greek Language has different theories of origin; firstly some believe it migrated with the Proto-Greek speakers into the Greek Peninsula, dating from 2500BC to 1700 BC. Second Theory considers the migration into Greece happened before Proto-Greek, so the characteristics of Greek sounds were later.
The celebrations and fetivals of Greek
The Athenian year consisted of twelve months, with the first month, Hecatombaion, beginning around midsummer at the new moon before the summer solstice. (Parke, 29) From the music, singing, and dancing at the festivals of Dionysus developed the diathermy [choral lyric with exchanges between the leader and the chorus] and ultimately Greek drama.
Food of Greek
Greek food has evolved through history with influences from Turkey, the Balkans and the Middle East. It's a down-to-earth cuisine that incorporates items such as phyllo dough, creamy sauces and seafood from the Greek coasts. The country is known for its splendid ancient culture and its sunny islands, its fresh foods and vibrant seasonings, and its love of celebrations--always involving good, simple, flavorful eating. Greek foods that are famous all over the world include baklava and Spanakopita.
